Spent part of Labor Day watching from a nearby field as the Blue Angels performed at the local air show. All the kids loved it except the youngest, who found it much too loud.
Finished reading: The Spirit of the Age by J. V. Fesko 📚 This brief, somewhat technical overview provides a helpful historical survey and analysis of the confession’s pneumatology.
Finished re-reading: The Kingdom of God by Jeffrey Johnson 📚 An excellent book. One of the best introductions to historic baptist covenant theology that I’ve read.
Finished reading: Taught by God by Brandon D. Smith which makes the case for the admiration and retrieval of a premodern form of interpretation. 📚

Maybe Blaugest will be the nudge I need to blog more consistently. Two days and two micro posts in so I guess we’ll see.
I finished reading: Exodus Old and New by L. Michael Morales 📚 Although a few of the author’s connections were unconvincing, this book succeeds in clearly establishing the exodus as an important theme throughout scripture.
As time goes on, I find myself less enthralled with big name conference speakers and more impressed by the pastors of small local churches with a long track record of faithfulness.
